Research

RESEARCH

OHNIG will play a pivotal role in creating partnerships among scientists, health care practitioners and consumers to develop clinical evidenced best practices (EBP) or best practice guidelines (BPG) for healthy work environments for their workplace populations!

Research is the missing link in Occupational and Environmental Health. New research is required that would form a triad between theory, practice and research.

Occupational health nurses must assume leadership to incorporate evidenced based research into their clinical practice in the workplace community. Greatly required is research that validates behavior change or the determinants of risky behavior in order to establish anticipatory best practice guidelines for our clinical practice.

OHNIG will actively promote occupational health research that can provide a continuous feedback loop to achieve the knowledge level for evidence-based practice or best practice guidelines (best evidence available).

OHNIG promote research opportunities for its members in occupational health nurses i.e. health promotion and preventative health.

OHNIG will award $200.00 to a member who presents a research paper related to occupational and environmental health, at the RNAO's Healthy Work Environment conference in November. To obtain an application form, send an email to info@ohnig.org

OHNIG members could qualify for Doctoral Fellowships ($25,000.00) Nursing Best Practice Guidelines (NBPG) Program through Education Funding.
